DORTED is an Africa- first design oriented  magazine—it’s a platform dedicated to archiving and sharing African architectural and design stories. We aim to inspire, educate, and showcase African creativity, connecting young designers and professionals to a global audience.

Our History…

DORTED – Design Oriented started as a personal blog founded by Michael Salolomo in May 2019, shortly before he began studying architecture at university. Its initial purpose was to share architectural inspiration with others. Michael’s interest in design and creativity, along with his background in the creative field, guided the blog’s direction.

About a year later, Michael was joined by his friend and co-founder, Girah Kilsi, adding his unique insights to re-imagine and grow the blog into what it is today—an Africa-first design magazine.
