By submitting, you contribute to a movement — one that uplifts African creativity and inspires future architects, designers, and storytellers. Read the guidelines and fill out the form below and be part of it.

Submission Guidelines

What Can Be Submitted?
  • Built projects (architecture, interiors, installations, landscape)
  • Unbuilt concepts & design proposals (competitions, thesis, etc.)
  • Student projects (captivating school projects)
  • Articles, News/ stories on African design, architecture, or urbanism.

What You’ll Need to Upload
Images / Visuals
  • Accepted formats: .png, jpeg
  • Minimum width: 2880px
  • Max size per image: 10MB
  • Use clear, high-resolution images
  • Rename each file with attribution (e.g. Apple House Entrance – Courtesy John Doe)
  • Choose a featured image This image will represent your project across Dorted’s platform and social media. It should be horizontal and visually strong.
Drawings & Documents
  • Upload as a single .zip file (include plans, sections, elevations, diagrams)
  • Label clearly (e.g. Ground Floor Plan, Exploded View)
Project Description
  • 150–600 words
  • Write in third person unless personal story
  • Include: concept, context, process, and impact
Project Credits
  • List team members, collaborators, institutions, and photographers
  • Use correct attributions (e.g. “Photo by John Doe”)
Image Rights & Publishing
  • You must own or have permission to share everything you upload
  • By submitting, you grant Dorted the right to publish your work across our platform and channels.
    You retain full ownership and credit will always be given.

Section 1: Personal Info
  • Your name, bio, and contact
  • This will be displayed alongside your project unless you opt out
Section 2: Project Info
  • Varies based on your submission type (project, article, etc.)
  • You’ll upload media, describe your project, and input relevant metadata
Section 3: Optional Add-ons

You can add extra materials like:

  • PDF documents (e.g. full reports or presentations)
  • Video links (YouTube / Vimeo preferred)
    If you don’t use YouTube or Vimeo, share a Google Drive link or email it to
    submit@dorted.com with your project title as the subject

Who can submit a project to Dorted?

Anyone involved in creative work across Africa — including architects, designers, artists, students, studios and even enthusiasts — is welcome to submit. We celebrate both emerging and established talent.

What kind of work can I submit?

We accept a wide range of creative work, including architectural projects, design objects, visual art, sketches, models, student projects, and experimental concepts. As long as it reflects thoughtful design and creative expression, it’s welcome. We hope to accept more formal academic work like theses, reports, e.t.c. Soon.

Does my project have to be built or completed?

Not necessarily. We accept both built and unbuilt work, as long as it is clearly presented and thoughtfully documented.

Are there any submission fees?

No. Submitting your work to Dorted is completely free.

Will my submission be published automatically?

No. All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. If selected, we will contact you before publication.

How will I know if my project has been selected?

If your project is chosen for publication, we will reach out via the contact information you provide in the form.

Can I submit more than one project?

Yes! You are welcome to submit multiple projects. Just complete a separate form for each one.

Will I be credited for my submission?

Absolutely. We make sure that proper credit is given to all contributors. Please include the correct names, roles, and affiliations during submission.

Can I update or correct my submission later?

Yes. If you need to make changes after submitting, please use our contact form. Select ‘send corrections’, fill in your project title and updated information.
